How to maintain stage lighting equipment?

- Oct 30, 2019-

The service life of the equipment largely depends on the quality of maintenance. The maintenance of lighting equipment is more complicated and trivial than that of sound equipment. Basically, routine inspection every day, regular inspection every week, monthly equipment maintenance and proper debugging are achieved.

Matters needing attention

Half an hour before the opening, open all equipment, conduct low-temperature preheating, and detect all equipment and lines at the same time. The low temperature state means that the light is light.

Turn on the machine and preheat it for 15 minutes, then reset all equipment to zero, let the equipment cool down, and the cooling time shall not be less than 15 minutes;

After cooling, you can officially enter the stage of music performance;

At the end of the performance and after the guests leave the venue, the lighting engineer shall turn off all equipment and let the equipment cool for 15 to 20 minutes, then seal or mask the equipment, and the lighting engineer can leave the venue.

Routine test range

Whether the bulb can be turned on normally;

Whether all equipment wiring is normal;

Whether all equipment can be used normally, including lamp control switch, color changer control, computer lamp action, etc.

Whether DMX512 signal can control lamps normally;

*Whether the equipment is in normal use and filled with required materials, such as: cigarette machine, fog machine, snowflake machine, bubble machine, etc.

Weekly regular inspection

In addition to all items of daily monitoring, the following points shall be paid attention to in the weekly regular inspection:

During the weekly inspection, the connection of the equipment is mainly inspected, including the power connection, DMX512 connection, etc., to see if there is looseness, breakpoint, etc.

At the same time, during the weekly inspection, the lamp position and DMX512 programming should be adjusted comprehensively.

Monthly equipment maintenance and proper adjustment

In addition to the daily monitoring and weekly inspection, the appropriate adjustment of each month will be a very detailed work, which requires coordination of multiple departments, such as actors, bands, weak current, security, cleaning, etc. at the same time, the following work shall be completed during the monthly inspection.

Light level adjustment. Because some of the lamp positions will shift or change in the guest's area during use, which will lead to the change of lamp positions, it is necessary to adjust the level every month, including the DMX512 signal controlled computer lamp, the detection of mechanical equipment, including the computer lamp motor, the color changer motor, the nozzle of * equipment, etc.

Check all wiring. Detect whether there are breakpoints, damages and leakage, because some human factors are inevitable in use, such as various unexpected conditions of the line, such as broken broken or frequently inserted wires or breakpoints, occasionally leakage or even short circuit of the line due to spilling drinks, etc., so this detection should be very careful. The detection needs weak current to complete;

Clean the dust and garbage inside and outside the lamps. There will be some garbage in the use of the light, such as the garbage left in the lamp body by the explosion of the light bulb, in addition to the computer light leaked in the audience area for a long time, * machinery is easy to fall into some garbage, such as ribbon, glass ballast, residual liquid of drinks, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to wipe the garbage and dirt outside the lamp and remove the garbage inside the lamp, which requires cleaning cooperation;

Check all fire protection equipment. Lighting and acoustics are a relatively centralized type of work in the circuit. Strong current enters and weak current exits. There are many related equipment and more related wires. Therefore, fire prevention is the top priority in the lighting work. In the monthly routine inspection, cooperate with the security department to conduct a comprehensive test on all fire prevention facilities and fire-fighting equipment. The monitoring range includes the normal degree of fire-fighting equipment and the selection of fire-fighting equipment. Normal, within the shelf life, etc.

In addition to the above-mentioned daily monitoring, weekly inspection and monthly comprehensive inspection, the lighting engineer must have a good understanding of all the conditions of the equipment and the environment, so that if something happens, please handle it in time, so as to get a good visual environment and have sufficient security.
